Food is our passion… what we serve to you and your guests we want to be as inspiring as the service at your table and the atmosphere we create.

Chris BurtOur award-winning Executive Head Chef, Chris Burt grew up in the kitchens of his mother’s huge restaurant in West Africa, then went on to train at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons and The Savoy. 

Chris and his team handpick every ingredient used in our restaurant, from the meat to the vegetables, to the spices, to the wines that we cook with and serve to you.  All our produce is sourced locally - supporting Shropshire's farming communities - wherever possible.

Chris recently returned from a trip to Northern Thailand where he & his wife, Jo volunteered at The Chai Lai Orchid Elephant Eco Resort, helping the charity 'Daughters Rising', who take in Burmese refugees who have been rescued from sex trafficking & severe abuse.  

Chris worked in the kitchen with a team of six, teaching them new dishes  for their new menu, also picking up some tips on Burmese & Thai Cuisine.
Having recently returned from Japan, Thailand & New York where he worked with Burmese & Vietnamese orphan’s, teaching much needed cooking skill’s, & working at the Infamous ramen restaurant ‘Ivan Orkin’.

Chris’ first cook book Momo-No-Ki was launched last year to critical acclaim from Famous New York Time’s Restaurant critic Peter Kaminsky.

Chris work’s tirelessly with local producer’s to bring awareness to Shropshire’s thriving restaurant community.
